ValueOptions – Immediate Response Services
First 20 hours of support, covered under your StaySafe contract.

One call to the StaySafe Hotline gets you immediate access to up to 20 hours of on-campus support from your ValueOptions Response Team. Threat levels are determined and a team of specialists, including credentialed crisis care counselors, are immediately dispatched to your campus as needed. Within hours, these first responders can assist with establishing an on-site Command Center and Behavioral Response Center.

ValueOptions – Ongoing Support
Available on a pre-negotiated fee-for-service basis

ValueOptions enables quick, decisive action, delivering a team of professionals who have the credentials to consult, counsel and comfort the members of your campus and community. Immediate attention is the key to healing the trauma of crisis, creating a sense of order and establishing an atmosphere of control and care for students and colleagues.

Typical services engaged include:

  • Immediate and highly personal support for persons emotionally traumatized by a crisis, disaster or tragic event
  • Face-to-face mental health and grief counseling
  • Creation and operation of a drop-in counseling center for those affected by the crisis

All ValueOptions Response & Recovery Services are provided on an as-needed, fee-for-service, basis. There are no costs for services you elect not to use. And all rates are pre-negotiated between ValueOptions and the University.

After an initial crisis, its effects often still live on. From a behavioral health perspective, working to get things back to normal actually amounts to helping people find the “new normal” that the crisis has shaped.

Resilience is the measure of how well a person, a school or a community is able to recover from disaster. ValueOptions has developed a highly effective Resilience Program, a valuable tool for restoring trust and nurturing peace of mind, that trains individuals – students, faculty and administrators – to help fellow members of their community cope with crisis.
