Recovery and Resilience

How to cope in the aftermath of a crisis

The effects of a crisis can live on, long after the tragic event, whether emotionally, mentally or physically. Resilience plays a major role in how well a person, school or community is able to recover from disaster. To help start the healing process, ValueOptions® has developed a Resilience Program, a fee-for-service plan that helps students, faculty, staff and community members cope with a crisis, restoring the trust and peace of mind it takes to get their lives back on track. It includes:

  • Immediate and personal support for persons emotionally traumatized by a crisis
  • Face-to-face mental health and grief counseling
  • Creation and operation of a drop-in counseling center for those affected by the crisis
